Every once in a while we cull through samples of book-cloth fabrics to see if we can add to the offerings available to our customers. We look at the quality and durability of the fabric as well as its visual appeal. We were immediately interested in the new line of Euro-Buckram Fabrics when they crossed our desk. They smacked of urban industrial beauty and seemed a perfect fit for our sensibility.

Two 3-Piece Print Portfolios with Custom Double Slipcase
Maine-based Artist Tanja Hollander came to Mullenberg Designs to build a run of custom-branded Slipcases for her recently released book, Are You Really My Friend?. The book accompanies her current exhibition at MASS MoCA of the same title. The exhibition will be on view through February 11, 2018.
Custom-built Slipcases for Artist’s Books
Excerpt from MASS MoCA about, Are You Really My Friend?… “In 2011, Maine-based photographer Tanja Alexia Hollander set out to differentiate the actual from the virtual by photographing all 626 of her Facebook friends. Since then, she has traveled across the globe, setting up in-person meetings in her friends’ homes to discover the ways in which friendship is defined, and how permission is granted into one’s private — yet also very public — online life. Through this project, the artist has been able to take the virtual out of friendship.”
Custom-designed Artist Catalogs built by Mullenberg Designs for the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Each limited edition catalog was built to accompany the exhibition of a celebrated Maine Artist.
Each book was hand-sewn and bound by the bookbinders at Mullenberg Designs. We worked closely with Museum staff to select cover materials to best represent the work of each Artist. The catalogs were printed locally at Edison Press.
